I sat drinking a local beer that I have not had before or since when I watched these 2 lads play foosball at the beach in the Italian port town of Civitavecchia. They muttered as the game went on, the points in the game swaying back and forth between them like the lazy waves lapping in the Mediterranean heat. Eventually one of them jeered at himself for giving up the final point and the game, then they both went back into the water. I wondered about the table, who’s was it? Did it stay out at night? Could anyone play?
